Like many of the autographs I acquired as a kid, I obtained this one by writing to Basil and including a self-addressed, stamped envelope.  I guess you never can tell whether or not the signature is authentic in those situations, but Basil wouldn't cheat a kid, would he?

1990-91 Pro Set #132 Neal Broten (Autographed)

I used to write autograph request letters to players.  I can't remember if this Neal Broten autograph is from that, or if I had it signed in person by him.  I've had it forever, though.

In the spring of 1991, near the beginning of the North Stars' exciting run toward the Stanley Cup Finals, I went to a card show at the legendary Thunderbird Hotel in Bloomington, Minnesota, right next to the Met Center.  The big attraction to this particular show was the in-person appearances and autograph signings by Brian Bellows and Mike Modano.  I met both and had each sign a card for me.
