1991-92 Pro Set #113 Brian Propp

The English version of the 1991-92 Pro Set cards featured the North Stars' classic "N" logo on the front of the cards, while the French version used the new "Stars" logo.

1991-92 Pro Set French #113 Brian Propp

I only now realized that the Pro Set French cards from this season used the "Stars" logo (still used by Dallas) instead of the classic North Star "N".

1990-91 Upper Deck #385 Jon Casey (Autographed)

I'm fairly certain I obtained this one via the ol' letter-with-S.A.S.E. autograph request method.

Signed at the same time as this card.

1991-92 Pro Set #289 Bobby Smith (All-Star)

1990-91 Score #322 Brian Bellows (All-Star)

It was always exciting to see a hometown hero get his own "All Star" card.  The first one I remember was Frank Viola's 1985 Topps All-Star baseball card.  That one confused the hell out of me, though, because I knew that Frankie was not actually a member of the 1984 American League All Star Team.

Welcome back, Bobby!

1983-84 O-Pee-Chee #181 Bobby Smith

I'm still a little sad about the 1983 trade of Bobby Smith to Montreal.  Oh well... at least we eventually got him back.

1983-84 O-Pee-Chee #131 Ken Solheim (RC)

1983-84 O-Pee-Chee #169 Steve Christoff

This is a strange card.  Steve Christoff last played for the North Stars during the 1981-82 season.  He was traded to Calgary prior to the 1982-83 season, and spent that entire year with the Flames, before suiting up for the Los Angeles Kings in 1983-84.  It's understandable that he is billed as a member of the Kings on this card, but why is he wearing a North Stars jersey - and an airbrushed North Stars jersey at that! - rather than a Flames jersey on this card?

Well, he was actually traded back to the North Stars by Calgary in June of 1983.  I assume O-Pee-Chee was planning on depicting him as a North Star once again until he was dealt to L.A. in October 1983, just before the season began.
